シガニー・ウィーバー

ニューヨーク出身。TVプロデューサーの父と元女優の母をもつ。高校時代から演劇部や劇団に所属、大学卒業後はイェール・スクール・オブ・ドラマで演技を学び、舞台女優としてキャリアを積む。「アニー・ホール」（77）でたった6秒ほどの出演にもかかわらず注目を浴び、人気シリーズになった「エイリアン」（79）に主演。「ゴースト・バスターズ」（84）のヒットを経て、「エイリアン2」（86）ではアカデミー賞とゴールデングローブ賞の主演女優賞の候補となる。88年には「愛は霧のかなたに」と「ワーキング・ガール」でゴールデングローブ賞の主演・助演女優賞をダブル受賞。妊娠・出産でキャリアを一時中断した後、92年「エイリアン3」「1492・コロンブス」で復帰。ジェームズ・キャメロン監督作「アバター」（09）やリドリー・スコット監督の「エクソダス 神と王」（14）、ニール・ブロムカンプ監督の「チャッピー」（15）などで活躍し、ピクサーの「ウォーリー」（08）、「ファインディング・ドリー」（16）では声優も務めた。そのほかの出演作に「怪物はささやく」（16）、「マイ・ニューヨーク・ダイアリー」（20）など。
